"It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power." -Alan Cohen

Fighting Giants. Climbing Mountains.

Ventured to the countryside of La Mancha. Famous for the picturesque windmills. As well as Don Quijote's adventures around Spain. Spent time with my fellow USACers and enjoyed another delicious meal of Spanish food...

These are the 'giants' that Don Quijote fights.... quite the epic battle...

Quijote Adventures begin

The next day I joined a group of hikers from my program and we took a train to the mountains of outter Madrid. You have no idea how good it felt to be in the mountains. I am realizing more and more how much I LOVE mountains. We had a great, LONG day of hiking. We peaked the 7 peaks of this trail and ended up in a town on the other side of the peaks. Along the way we met some people from Italy, Amsterdam and Chile. Once we reached the bottom of the mountain we all sat at a cafe together and took in the beautiful view. Spanish mountain towns have a similar feel to those in any mountain range. (except I was the only one wearing any sort of flashy color...)
