"It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power." -Alan Cohen

A taste of the Philippines

The one thing I would love to share with the world is how hospitable and welcoming the people of the Philippines are.  Our team has been unbelievably taken care of from the moment we stepped off the plane. The rotary club of Dipolog city has taken us in, helped recruited kids for the mission and planned many of the details. Before we started the medical mission, we experienced a bit of the Philippine culture. We embraced local food, including a fertilized duck egg "Balot", a local festival in which different college departments completed in choreographed dances (the UNC grad department would be put to shame), and a beautiful sunset. Enjoy the pictures and a taste of the Philippines.

Stay tuned for information regarding the start to the medical mission...
